Zero-sum games are situations where resources are fixed—one person's gain exactly equals another person's loss. Like a chess match: if I win, you lose. These environments require competitive strategies focused on outperforming others, not just improving yourself.

In positive-sum games, competing with yourself is the winning strategy. Your progress doesn't come at anyone's expense; everyone can improve simultaneously.

The real skill is knowing which game you're playing and adopting the right mindset accordingly. Wisdom lies in recognizing the nature of each situation and applying the appropriate mental approach.
