for most of software history, pricing was pretty set in stone.
you paid per seat. per month. per click. per api call.
like renting a fancy calculator.
it never really mattered how much value the software created, just how many people touched it. which is a relatively good proxy for value but maybe not the best.
but now we’re entering the agent era.
& suddenly, that logic is all kinds of broken.
